Yas Water World Abu Dhabi Review

In September 2023, the Theme Park Jam team visited Yas Water World which is located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. This water park is home to more than forty rides, slides and experiences. This waterpark certainly took us both by surprise so keep reading to hear our thoughts on Yas Water World.

Yas Water World Abu Dhabi

Yas Water World is a waterpark that is located just a few minutes away from Warner Bros Abu Dhabi and just across the street from Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. It is part of the Yas Parks group which are home to three others park (including the two mentioned above and Sea World Abu Dhabi).

The water park is made up of a mixture of slides appealing to families, thrill seekers and younger guests. These include:

  • VR underwater experience.
  • Oversized Tornado water coaster called ‘Dawwama’ which is the world’s largest six person tornado water coaster.
  • Liwa Loop – A looping water slide.
  • Cinesplash- One of the most unique 5D cinemas.
  • Al Raha River – A lazy river over 300 meters in length with waterfalls and rain showers.
  • Numerous Slither Slides – Yas Water World has six Slither Slides which are all unique with their own twist.
  • One of a kind Pearl diving experience.
  • Bandit Bomber – The world’s only Vekoma splash party rollercoaster.
  • AMWAJ – A wave pool.
  • Yadi Yas – Another crazy river which is action packed with intense waves.

In addition to these slides and experiences, Yas Water World also has plenty of dining options ranging from full meals to small snacks.

For an additional upcharge, guests have the option to purchase a cabana experience which includes a a VIP butler service, access to an exclusive mouthwatering menu, complimentary towels, a mini fridge, a safe for valuables, and more.

Tickets to Yas Water World start from 295 AED which is around £63.60 at the time of writing this article. In addition to this, Yas Water World offers multiple ticket option which include a two park, three park or four park ticket giving guests access to the Yas Parks.

Water slides, attractions and experiences

Yas Water World has a large variety of water slides along with a rollercoaster and experiences.

Water slides

Yas Water World has loads of water slides with two holding world records which are:

  • Falcons Falaj – The world’s longest mammoth six seater water coaster.
  • Dawwama – The world’s largest six person tornado water coaster.

The water slides at Yas Water World are all varied massively from water coasters, trap door slides, speed slides and racing slides.

We managed to check out most of the slides at Yas Water apart from Liwa Loop and Jebel Drop but this due to how intimidating these slides looked as they are designed for thrill seekers.

Attractions and experiences

Outside of the water slides, Yas Water World has other attractions and experiences. We did not check out the underwater diving experience but the two attractions and experience that stood out to us were Bandit Bomber and Cinesplash.

Bandit Bomber is the only Vekoma splash party rollercoaster in the world. The ride works with water features from the ground such as water cannons, jets and geysers. On our visit, the water features seemed very limited so we felt like this took away from the ride experience but it is definitely a unique experience.

Cinesplash is a 5D cinema which is the best cinema attraction we have ever done. This attraction is one of a kind and takes 5D cinemas to a new depth. If you do not want spoilers, skip the next sentence however this attraction features moving seats and water falls and water effects which floor the whole cinema up to your knees. Cinesplash is a really unique attraction and we are surprised more water parks don’t feature this kind of attraction.

Thoughts

Before visiting Yas Water World, we did not know a lot about this waterpark and it really took us by surprise. The quality, slide line up and other attractions at this park are phenomenal and it is definitely worth visiting if you are on Yas Island or you can combine it with another Yas Park as part of their combination tickets.

If you are visiting Yas Water World, we would recommend spending at least one full day at this park as there is so much to see and do. Queue times were minimal on our visit so we managed to combine our day with Warner Bros Abu Dhabi as it is opposite to this park however to get the most out of your day, a full day would be needed.

It is worth noting that Yas Water World is set to expand by 16,900 square meters by 2025 following an expansion project. It is rumoured that 18 more slides will be added to this water park and upon completion, Yas Waterworld will feature the UAE’s highest slide.
